Default Mode Network
Hypnosis is recognizable in the Default Mode Network: the Default Mode Network (DMN for short) is the so-called resting state network. This refers to the brain regions that become active in the state of rest, so rest can be made practically measurable. A resting state is when we do not have to solve any cognitive tasks. This state can be measured by means of EEG or also fMRI (resting state fMRI). Hypnosis can also be detected in the default mode network. Here, brain activity during resting periods under hypnosis and without hypnosis can be well studied.
