Boreout facts
Burned out by underachievement - chronic boredom makes you sick
More than 10 percent of all employees in Germany suffer from boreout syndrome at least once in their working lives. This affects managers as well as workers, civil servants or clerks. All of these people suffer from massive underload because work has been combined or rationalized. Underchallenge has a negative effect on self-confidence and leads to the fact that those affected no longer have any confidence in themselves. Their self-confidence sinks more and more. At the same time, they do everything they can to conceal their situation. After all, we live in a meritocracy. Anyone who is considered "lazy" can expect to be ostracized and ridiculed, both at work and at home. In addition, an employee who has little or even no work to do has every right to fear for his or her job. A game of hide-and-seek begins, in which the employee feigns busyness where there is none.
Job boredom in Germany
The figures are high: 17 percent of the women surveyed say about the role of work in their own lives that the job is often boring, compared with 13 percent of the men surveyed. If you consider the effects of boreout and its possible secondary conditions, which can result from persistent underchallenge, it becomes clear how important it is to break out of the cycle of boredom and underchallenge.

Boreout causes
Boreout triggers - this is how boreout arises
The term boreout describes at the same time the cause: boredom and this can, contrary to what some believe, refer to different areas of life, such as in professional life, in private life, leisure, school, study or training and in an unemployment.
When boreout is caused by being under-challenged at work
One cause for chronic underchallenge in professional life can be that affected persons are underestimated at the workplace. Tasks are subtracted or affected persons are cut off in their career. Often, modest personnel decisions are behind this, causing employees to burn out. The competencies are not or only insufficiently perceived. Again and again, a specific type of mobbing appears behind this, to which those affected are exposed seemingly arbitrarily. Behind it in addition, a bad order situation can stand. In addition to employees, self-employed people are particularly affected by this due to fluctuating economic activity or poor positioning on the market.
When boreout is caused by being under-challenged in your personal life
And anyone who now thinks that boreout is only to be found in the workplace is mistaken: those affected do not know what to do with their time. The TV is on constantly and digital devices increase communication. At the same time, the ideas of actively taking life into one's own hands and shaping it diminish. Chronic boredom can be the result. Social contacts become fewer, sufferers have no hobbies and forget what gives them pleasure. They increasingly isolate themselves and boreout is found in private life and leisure time. A cycle of listlessness develops, lack of motivation towards new things, passion and joy decrease, as does libido, and at the same time bad moods, dejection and listlessness increase. Depression can be the result.
Boreout consequences
What consequences can being under-challenged and boreout syndrome have?
However, the worst consequences of the disease do not affect the body, but the soul. The permanent underchallenge destroys self-confidence and eats away at a person's strength. The diagnosis is another slap in the face of the person affected. While many burnout patients wear their diagnosis like a medal, boreout patients try to hide the supposedly humiliating illness at all costs. Only in hypnosis do those affected learn to accept the diagnosis, not to blame themselves and to finally take control of the situation again.

Boreout hypnosis treatment
Hypnotherapy against boreout
There are many ways to deal with being underchallenged and the resulting boreout syndrome. Mostly, however, the first step is to alleviate and heal the symptoms that cause boreout. The calming effect of hypnosis and its positive effects on the immune system are particularly helpful in this regard. It starts with the breathing exercises that bring the client into the hypnotic trance, which also have very positive effects in everyday life. Moreover, during hypnosis the client learns to control his thoughts and sensations. Pain subsides, the nocturnal carousel of thoughts stops, and the affected person can sleep well again. But hypnosis also has a positive effect on the soul. It breaks the cycle of underachievement and ever-decreasing self-esteem. In trance, the client has the opportunity to explore his inner strengths anew. He recognizes the actual cause of the underchallenge and finally finds the strength to think about possible solutions.
How hypnosis works for boreout
Those who suffer from a boreout situation usually have various options. It takes a great deal of clarity to recognize which one is the right one. You will get this clarity in hypnosis. Because during the hypnotic trance, your subconscious mind has the opportunity to make its own decisions, completely independent of prejudices, conditioning and feelings of obligation. You recognize allies, know with whom you can open up and where it is better to remain silent. Thus strengthened by hypnosis, you can now take the first steps into a life without boreout. Maybe there is a works council in your company that can help you, maybe you have a good friend in or outside your company who can give you advice and support. You can also finally clarify the important question of your professional and private future in hypnosis.

More complex issues that accompany people longer are treated in four sessions on average. Hypnotherapy is to be understood as a short therapy. There are also exceptions where I support clients over several years at their express request.
Usually clients come for a follow-up appointment at an interval of 1 to 4 weeks. I have had very good experiences with a session interval of 1 to 2 weeks. I would like to emphasize here that in my experience this depends on the topic and the client.
