Depersonalization
Depersonalization is a dissociative trance state in which the affected person has the feeling of "not really being there anymore". This is based on the sensation that one is far away and that one's feelings and experiences do not belong to one's own person. It seems as if the movements one performs and the sensations one feels are detached from oneself. In this state, sufferers often experience anxiety and panic as the boundaries between inside and outside become more and more blurred. Sufferers often feel as if they are standing next to themselves and feel helpless. Hypnosis can help to establish a new and inner way of dealing with fears and feelings of panic, which can reduce feelings of depersonalization.
