Desensitization is used for both mental illnesses (especially anxiety disorders) and allergies. It involves gradually exposing oneself to the anxiety- or allergy-triggering stimulus and sensitizing the body or psyche to it. With hypnosis it is also possible to treat allergies. The same refers to fears and anxiety and panic disorders, hypnosis can also be a good strategy here. In particular, when fears relate to a specific area, as in the case of a phobia, desensitization can be helpful.
