Eating disorders are behavioral disorders in which the thoughts of those affected revolve centrally around the topic of food and their own bodies. The relationship to the body and the handling of food are disturbed. Those affected by an eating disorder suffer from low self-esteem and compensate for psychosocial problems. An eating disorder can lead to serious health problems in the long term. Since there are always causes for the formation of an eating disorder, hypnosis starts exactly there. During hypnotherapy, it can be important to learn about the mechanisms behind the eating disorder and to initiate a reorientation. By connecting to already existing resources, the affected person gains more and more self-confidence and self-awareness and develops new ways and strategies for a life without eating disorders, a life with normal eating behavior.
