Esdaile-State

Probably the deepest stage of hypnosis is the so-called Esdaile state. This is often mistakenly equated with the hypnotic coma, but must be separated from it. People who are in the Esdaile state feel, for example, an insensitivity to pain (analgesia) or an insensitivity to touch (anesthesia). Theoretically, even operations could be performed in this state of hypnosis or chemical painkillers could be dispensed with in case of pain.
