Eye-Counting-Method
The eye-counting method is a method in hypnosis with which the client can be quickly and effectively guided into the hypnotic trance. How well this strategy actually works depends, of course, on the client. The hypnotist counts down slowly from 100, and the client first closes his eyes. He is asked to close his eyes for even numbers and open them for odd numbers. Additional suggestions about eye heaviness can be included here. The eyes will usually tire rather quickly and the client will lose his ability to concentrate. Both are optimal conditions for the hypnotic trance.
