Induction
The hypnosis induction is the first step into an altered state of consciousness – a state in which new thoughts can grow, blockages can be released and solutions can be felt to come closer. It introduces the trance and creates the basis for everything that may follow in the hypnosis session.
Depending on whether it is about a specific topic such as fears, stress, sleep problems or a personal growth goal – the introduction to hypnosis is always individual. There is no rigid scheme, but a variety of possibilities that are sensitively tailored to the individual. This is something we take great care with in our practice in Berlin – as well as in our online hypnosis sessions.

Why is the hypnosis introduction so important?
Think of the hypnosis introduction as opening a door to your inner experience. This door only opens when you feel safe, seen and understood. The introduction not only creates a trance, but also trust.
It is not about “doing” something, but rather making something possible. The hypnosis introduction helps you to distance yourself from the thoughts of everyday life, to focus your attention, to perceive your body and to listen to your inner self. Often this is already the moment when inner peace sets in and new images emerge.

Different forms of hypnosis introduction
There are many methods that help people enter into a trance. Here are a few examples that we also use in our practice, depending on your needs and personality:
- Breath monitoring: A calm focus on your own breathing can help you to reconnect with yourself. Your own breathing becomes a bridge between inside and outside.
- Fixation method: A point on the wall, a small object or a candle flame – consciously fixing your gaze on one of these things allows you to momentarily let go of your thoughts.
- Countdown technique: Counting backwards from 10 to 1 can provide structure and help the brain to find a calmer rhythm.
- Progressive relaxation: The targeted relaxation of individual muscle groups in combination with suggestive words promotes physical release and paves the way to a trance.
- Metaphorical stories: Images and symbolic narratives can speak directly to the unconscious – without the need for many words via the mind.
- Eye or touch techniques: Some people respond particularly well to non-verbal impulses – a gentle gaze, a conscious gesture or a light touch can provide orientation.
What happens after the introduction?
After the introduction, the actual work begins in the trance state. This is where suggestions, inner journeys, resource activation or even the processing of specific topics can be used. However, without a clear and empathetic introduction, this process would often not even begin – or would only remain superficial.
That is why we pay particular attention to the hypnosis introduction. It is not a technique “on the side”, but the space in which inner experience begins to open up.

When is the induction of hypnosis successful?
Many of our clients report after the induction that they “suddenly were somewhere else”, that time stood still or that they experienced a pleasant feeling of spaciousness or closeness. Even though each experience is unique, this feedback shows that something has shifted. This is precisely the beginning of change.
