Bandler, Richard
The US-American Richard Bandler is a mathematician, computer scientist and psychologist. Together with the linguist John Grinder, he developed Neuro-Linguistic Programming in the 1970s as a method of short-term psychotherapy. Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP for short) deals with communication methods and techniques, their influence on subjective perception and a targeted application to change mental processes. People can be influenced visually, auditorily, olfactorily, gustatorily and kinesthetically. NLP initially combined hypnotherapy, family therapy and Gestalt therapy. Hypnosis is often used in the context of NLP. At the same time NLP methods can be parts of hypnotherapy.
