Sleep disorders, also known as insomnia, are characterized by deviations from normal sleep. Sleep disorders can be physical and/or psychological, so a detailed physical examination by an appropriate doctor is advisable. Examples of sleep disorders are difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep, sleepwalking, night terrors and nightmares. The causes can be diverse. Stress or mental disorders are often included. Sleep disorders can be treated well with hypnotherapy. In trance it is possible to uncover the causes of sleep disorders. Through hypnosis body and mind can be brought into the relaxed state necessary for falling asleep, which the client can evoke independently at home. Hypnosis also improves the quality of sleep, as a study by the University of Zurich has shown.
