Suggestion
The term suggestion was first used by James Braid and means a form of influencing a person: Suggestions should influence people in feeling, thinking and acting. Suggestion can be further differentiated into autosuggestion, which means influencing oneself, and heterosuggestion, which means influencing another person to achieve set goals. In hypnosis, suggestions are an important element to help the hypnotizer in his process. Posthypnotic suggestions work "post", after hypnosis and are often linked to a stimulus, a word, a gesture or a thought: "Whenever you think of chocolate, you remember...".If it is to be described how open a person is to suggestions, this is expressed in Suggestibility
